Contact us at developer@sensorcon.com to get involved We just shipped a small number of beta devices. We are looking for more developers and early users/test users to begin working with the Sensordrone now. We will build & ship additional Beta units in April/May, with a general release planned for this summer. Would you like to be one of the chosen few?? About the video
In this video, the Sensordrone’s proximity capacitance sensor is used as a stud finder. First, a traditional stud finder is used on a simulated wall, then the Sensordrone is used. Instead of using the LEDs, the Sensordrone uses bluetooth to stream data to an Android phone. Raw data is graphed over time. A decrease in capacitance is observed while over a stud. After the simulated wall test, both the traditional stud finder and sensordrone are used on a real wall. Our android robots then offer some “insightful” commentary…
Most stud finders work by detecting a change in capacitance as you run it over a wall. Here, we used the same concept with the Sensordrone. The video shows the raw data (what you can expect to use) for making your own custom application. You can also use the capacitance sensor to detect changes in liquid level, intrusion detection, and others. The proximity capacitance sensor is suitable for any application you can dream up that will cause an interference in the electric field on the back side of the Sensordrone.
Proximity Capacitance SensorNo eyes in the back of his head, but the Sensordrone still knows what’s going on!
